About

1.  How many pets do you have?

2.  Do you care for the welfare of your pets and all animals?

3.  Do you want to share what your pet means to you?

4.  Do you want tips and information on how best to care for your pet?

5.  Do you want to reach out to others who may need help?

All the above are goals that I have to make this blog a success for you and a grand adventure for all of us.    I endeavor to make Carol’s Critter Corner interactive so we can learn from one another, share stories of our beloved pets, gain insight and love every moment of it.  Please join me in making this a huge success not only in numbers but in the friends we make and the joy our pets bring us.

I have had pets almost all my life, mostly cats.  I adopted my first dog, a Queensland Heeler named Sammy, when I bought my own house and that was nine years ago.  I have since added another dog, a four year old Terrier, named Shilo.  I have a fifteen year old Flame Point Siamese named Woody, a 13 year old Orange Tabby named Misha, an eight year old Long Haired Gray kitty Butch and another Orange Tabby Pip who is five.

My pets are the joys of my life and keep me busy and happy.  I am single and don’t have any children of my own and my own family is spread out across the country so my pets are very important to me.

Let’s have some fun!

This is my try at Saturday Pet Bloggers! It’s really fun to see all the different pets people love. Buddy, my Welsh Corgi, and I don’t have a cat but we have a poodle who makes his life miserable. Bet all your little family get on fine! Happy Saturday Pet Bloggers’ day!

Oh what an interesting concept your blog is.

“The Boys” and I just found this…after you posted at Kittens ‘n Things. (Thank you, by the way.)

This looks like a mighty tasty site; it will certainly give our “guys” “food” for thought!

Thanks Karen,
You won’t find another site like mine, I love to help others save. I love your use of words. Hope to see you again!

6 Abbie The Basket Hound's Hooman aka Nanci January 30, 2011 at 9:47 pm

Hi My Name is Nanci and I found you on Twitter.
I am the proud “hooman” of four wonderful, unique, spoiled canine kiddos.
Phoebe is my “first born”. She is a mixed breed Poodle/Terrier and is 14 years old. I have had her longer than my husband. :) She was adopted through our county humane society.
Bella is my gorgeous geriatric lab. She adopted us 9 years ago. She is approx. 13 years old. After a terrible storm, she ended up in our yard and no one claimed her despite ads, signs, and registering her with the local lost pets registry. It was meant to be. We cherish every day we have with her now as she is older.
Abbie, our Basset Hound came in our life two 1/2 years ago. She is 3 1/2 years old. My daughter BEGGED for a “Basket Hound” as soon as she could say the words. Abbie is a diva, is bossy, obstinate, steals food, drools, takes over our furniture, beds, and gets mad at us and goes and stands in the bathtub and howls. We still have not figured that one out.
Bruiser aka (Chupy, short for chupacabra) is our latest addition to the family. He is a 14 year old chihuahua. He was my mother’s dog but she was no longer in a position to care for him. He got his nickname after we brought him home last month and we could only assume that was what Abbie was calling this new attention getter in our house. He is a sweet boy and can hold his own with the ladies.
We love kitties too but with 4 dogs, no cat would have peace here.
Each one of our pets is a member of the family. I cannot imagine a life without the JOY that each one gives us through their unconditional love and support. It is very obvious to me that each one has an individual personality, much like my children. And as such, we treat them with respect and believe the way people treat animals tells a lot about what kind of a person they really are and the way they value life.
I’m so glad I came across your site and look forward to seeing the great deals and conversation.
Blessings from Alabama, Nanci
